Madhur Bhandarkar’s awaited film ‘India Lockdown’ is finally skipping theatres and making its way to Zee5 after being delayed for a while now. Helmed by National Award winning filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar, ‘India Lockdown’ will premiere on Zee5 on 2nd December, 2022.
The announcement came with a poster of ‘India Lockdown’ featuring lead cast on top of a big lock in the middle of a road all tied up in a chain. Each character has a story to tell and the only common thing in them is a sense of tension and fear.
Written by Amit Joshi and Aradhana Sah, ‘India Lockdown’ is directed by Madhur Bhandarkar and stars Prateik Babbar, Sai Tamhankar, Shweta Basu Prasad, Aahana Kumra, Zarin Shihab and Prakash Belawadi among others.
‘India Lockdown’ is all about those unknown tragic stories that happened during and due to the tragedy we all know. With a tagline ‘Resetting Lives’, ‘India Lockdown’ was shot during the pandemic and narrates the story of the people in India during the first lockdown after COVID-19 was declared a pandemic in 2020.
Now being launched as a Zee5 original film ‘India Lockdown’ is produced by Madhur Bhandarkar, Pranav Jain, Dhaval Jayantilal Gada and Aksshay Jayantilal Gada. The production companies behind the film are Pen Studios, Bhandarkar Entertainment and PJ Motion Pictures. ‘India Lockdown’ will launch only on Zee5 on 2nd December, 2022.
One thing that comes to mind here is, isn’t it too late for a pandemic film on OTT, now that we have so many films, series and anthologies on it already streaming on various platforms. It will be interesting to see what makes ‘India Lockdown’ different from others.
