Maharani Season 2: Will It Outperform Season 1? Stars Huma Qureshi

Maharani Season 2 trailer received a fantastic response from viewers upon its arrival. The majority of the show’s fanbase believes that the upcoming season will outperform the first instalment in every department. Will that be the case? Let’s find out!

The second season’s trailer offered a lot to the fans. It guarantees that Season 2 will be filled with numerous jaw-dropping moments and sensational performances. The SonyLIV series takes its inspiration from the many controversial events that shook the state of Bihar during the 90s. It was the time when Lalu Prasad Yadav chose his wife Rabri Devi as his successor.

The trailer opens with a voice-over that makes inflammatory remarks about the brutality of caste discrimination in Bihar. Then, it shifts to a young man setting himself on fire as a sign of protesting against the Verma commission, similar to the Mandal commission. After that, the shocking murder of Shilpi Agarwal starts gaining huge attention from the media. We can relate this story arc to the infamous Shilpi Jain-Gautam Singh murder case (July 1999). Although, the authorities closed the case as a double suicide. Furthermore, we see religion getting dragged into politics, parties attempting to get their hands on Jharkhand, gangsters making matters more complicated, and many more.

All the above-mentioned story arcs are sure to bestow several gripping and entertaining moments with just enough pinches of drama and suspense to the fans. These storylines certainly make Season 2 way bigger than its predecessor.

Also, we cannot ignore the performances of the cast members. The leading lady, Huma Qureshi, looks much better as Rani Bharti than she did in Season 1. Her Bihari accent and dialogue delivery look improved. And the rest of the cast is looking in terrific form too. There’s no doubt in admitting that Amit Sial’s Navin Kumar will get some scene-stealing moments in the forthcoming season.

If the makers of Maharani manage to play their cards right, then Season 2 may surpass the first season in terms of quality and viewership. Stay tuned for more updates.
