Mahesh Babu Fans Dismayed With Prime Video India! Here’s Why!

Mahesh Babu’s ‘Sarkaru Vaari Paata’ post its theatrical run released on Amazon Prime Video earlier this month. Despite having performed well at the box office, the film’s digital release did not create much buzz as is the case with most of the other big star regional films.

Although ‘Sarkaru Vaari Paata’ as a film did not impress much and received mixed response from both the audience and critics, it was Mahesh Babu’s performance and his huge fan following that made it a commercial success.

But when it comes to the film’s digital premiere, Amazon Prime Video India has surely made a mistake. Releasing the film only in Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam and ignoring Mahesh Babu’s fandom from other regions of the country especially Kannada and Hindi speaking audience is probably a major reason there hasn’t been much talk about the film’s OTT debut.

Similar concern has been raised by netizens on Prime Video India’s social media and the streamer does not seem to have any answers for it other than those rhetorical replies as usual.

Currently, ‘Sarkaru Vaari Paata’ is streaming on Amazon Prime Video in Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam audios with English subtitles. The streamer has not updated anything regarding other language dubs like Hindi and Kannada as of now.

This has been a problem for long with Prime Video where it has been unable to launch content in multiple languages contrary to the popular demand. Given the seamlessness of the digital world this creates a hurdle to access content from different parts of the country.

It was these OTT platforms that had earlier broken language barriers by releasing content in several languages and subtitles. Now that the audience has gotten used to it and is exploring everything and anything, limiting these very parameters does not serve them good.
