Mahesh Bhatt’s Vishesh Films to Make Web Series Along the Lines of His Seminal ‘Arth’

Vishesh Films, the film production house of the Bhatt brothers, Mahesh and Mukesh, is set to make its debut in the digital domain with a web series apparently along the lines of Mahesh Bhatt’s seminal Bollywood movie, Arth.

This morning, respected film analyst Taran Adarsh announced on his official Twitter account:

“IT’S OFFICIAL… Jio Studios partners with the #Bhatts of Vishesh Films… Announce web series based on a love story set in 1970s #Bollywood… Explores the highs and lows of the relationship between a married struggling filmmaker and a top actress of that time.”

If one is to read between the lines, the web series appears to be based on Mahesh Bhatt’s own doomed love affair with top Bollywood actress Parveen Babi in the late seventies.

Arth was also based on the aforementioned love story, a painfully stark retelling. Of course, it is all conjecture at this stage, and further updates on the web series will reveal more.
