The film will therefore stream on the platform soon. Disney Plus Hotstar Malayalam posted a short video on its social media handles this evening, announcing the streaming of ‘Malikappuram’ on Disney Plus Hotstar soon. The streamer hasn’t shared the ‘Malikappuram’ OTT release date yet, as the film is still doing well in the theatres, even in the sixth week of its theatrical release. ‘Malikappuram’ released in theatres on 30th December, 2022.
As per our understanding, ‘Malikappuram’ should begin streaming on Disney Plus Hotstar from 10th February, which is this Friday. The Malayalam film is one of the most keenly awaited film on streaming for digital viewers.
‘Malikappuram’ is an action-adventure drama film, directed by Vishnu Sasi Shankar and written by Abhilash Pillai. The film stars Unni Mukundan, Deva Nandha and Sreepath in primary roles. Interestingly, the film is narrated by Malayalam star, Mammootty.
The story of ‘Malikappuram’ centres on 8-year-old girl Kallu, who wants to desperately visit the Sabarimala Temple, abode of Lord Ayyappa. Since females in the age group of 10-50 years are not allowed to visit Sabarimala Temple, Kallu has a very short time to accomplish her desire to visit the temple, which is by itself a very difficult endeavor to achieve.
