Jayasurya’s Malayalam film ‘Meri Awas Suno’ released in theatres on May 13. The film received largely favourable reviews, even though it didn’t exactly set the Malayalam box office on fire. Still, the favourable reviews for the film have certainly helped amp up anticipation for the OTT release of ‘Meri Awas Suno‘. Malayalam film buffs have been waiting for the film to arrive on OTT, so that they can watch the Jayasurya starrer from the comfort of their homes.
Well, now we have confirmed information on the ‘Meri Awas Suno’ OTT release date and OTT platform. Meri Awas Suno will release on Disney Plus Hotstar this month. The OTT release date of the film is June 24, which works out to 6 weeks after the film’s theatrical release. A 6-week exclusive theatrical window is excellent for a small Malayalam film; all the more when even big Bollywood films like Samrat Prithviraj haven’t been able to sustain a long time in theatres.
Meri Awas Suno stars Jayasurya as a popular radio jockey who loses his voice due to his addiction to cigarettes. His chain-smoking habit lands him with laryngeal cancer. He realises that the cancer treatment will lead to him losing his voice. Even as all hope is lost for him, a speech therapist Dr Reshmi helps him to overcome the tragedy.
Meri Awas Suno is written and directed by Prajesh Sen, and produced by B. Rakesh. The film stars Jayasurya, Manju Warrier, Sshivada Nair, Johny Antony, Gautami Nair, Sudheer Karamana, among others.
