The Malayalam film ‘Mallikapuram‘ is having a theatrical release in Kannada on the 24th of March. It will be screened in over 50 theaters. The film had its initial release on the 30th of December last year. It is streaming on Disney+Hotstar now.
Mallikapuram is directed by Vishnu Sasi Shankar and written by Abhilash Pillai. It stars Unni Mukundan in the lead role and has actors like Saiju Kurup, Ramesh Pisharody, Manoj K. Jayan, Renji Panicker, T.G. Ravi and Sampath Ram have played other important roles. The film is the biggest hit in the whole career of Unni Mukundan and it was received with love.
The film tells the story of Kallu, a eight year old girl who badly wants to visit the temple of Sabarimala and faces many hurdles in this almost impossible task. She has only two years to visit the Lord Ayappan as after that she will not be eligible. Ajayan, her father mortgages the house and takes a big loan to make her dream come true and promises that one day she will visit Sabarimala. The movie is an emotional ride and captures the culture of Kerala very beautifully just like the many good films from the Malayalam Film industry.
The cinematography is handled by Vishnu Narayanan and the music of the film is composed by Ranjin Raj. Mammotty has narrated the story in the film. Re-releasing the film in the theaters is very good news for the fans. After Kannada, it can have possible theatrical releases in other languages also.
