Good news for Mammootty fans. The much loved Malayalam Crime thriller ‘Kannur Squad’ is going to stream on OTT very soon. It will premiere on Disney+Hotstar on the 17th of November.
Mammootty plays the lead role and there are other wonderful actors in the cast list: Rony David Raj, Azees Nedumangad, Shabareesh Varma, Kishore, Vijayaraghavan and more. The movie is directed by Roby Varghese Raj and has a story written by Muhammed Shafi. ‘Kannur Squad’ is produced by Mammootty’s own production company.
The movie tells the riveting tale of a police officer who leads his team all over the country in the search of a criminal gang. The officer goes through professional uncertainties, personal problems and yet leads his team with absolute mastery. There is a bit of fan-pleasing in the character played by Mammootty, but ‘Kannur Squad’ manages to become a fat-less drama narrated with beauty.
The cinematography of the movie is handled by Muhammed Rahil and the music is composed by Sushin Shyam. The movie had its theatrical release in September this year and was appreciated by audiences and critics, despite having some fallacies.
Mammootty had quite a wonderful year with so many announcements and releases. His anticipated drama ‘Kaathal- The Drama’ is releasing this November. If you are a fan of Mammootty’s acting, do not miss out on ‘Kannur Squad’. The movie will be available to watch on Disney+Hotstar from the 18th of November.
