Mammootty’s ‘Dominic and The Ladies’ Purse’: Feels Usual But Is It!

The trailer for Gautham Vasudev Menon’s upcoming theatrical venture ’Dominic and The Ladies’ Purse’ is out now and this looks like a regular investigative drama with a satirical take on things. ‘Dominic and The Ladies’ Purse’ is set to release in cinemas on 23rd January, 2025.

The trailer follows a retired police official named Dominic, a laid back yet self boasting fun-filled man, who is now running his personal detective agency. At this agency he hires a young man to assist him in the cases he gets through marketing across the city. Things were pretty usual until one day someone asks him to find the owner of a lost ladies purse.

What he thought was too low a task for him turns out to be the biggest mystery of his life as the search for the owner leads him to two murder cases.

At the first look, ‘Dominic and The Ladies’ Purse’ does not incite that enthralling feeling. There is no sense of excitement in the trailer either. Mammooty does make a strong screen presence but the whole trailer seems to fall flat in terms of creating an urge to know what happens next.

But then again its the Malayalam film industry and you never know what magic they might create even while looking all simple and sorted.
