‘Manikbabur Megh’: Love Story To Travel All The Way To The U.S!

There is not a domain in the world that we Indians have not left a mark on so far. This statement holds true with special regard to the entertainment industry. Just recently, filmmaker Payal Kapadia caused ripples at the International Film Festival in Cannes by winning the prestigious Grand Prix for her film, ‘All We Imagine as Light’.

Carrying such a golden legacy forward is the critically acclaimed Bengali-language film ‘Manikbabur Megh’. Translated to ‘The Cloud and the Man’, the film has been winning the hearts of audiences ever since its July 12 theatrical release in the state.

Directed by a newcomer, Abhinandan Banerjee, the film narrates the story of Manik, a loner in Kolkata who forms the most unlikeliest of bonds: with a cloud. The compelling narrative explores the themes of loneliness, connection, as well as human transformation.

To the utter pride of fans of Indian cinema, the film starring Chandan Sen, Debesh Roy Chowdhury, and Bratya Basu, is now on its way to the U.S, and it will not be a long journey! Having been acquired by Outsider Pictures, the film will premiere in select theatres in the States from August 9!

This comes following the widespread recognition, acclaim, and accolades, it has garnered over numerous International film festivals! A truly proud moment for the entirety of Indian cinema!
