Surpassing its predecessors, Manjummel Boys has now officially created history by becoming the highest grossing Malayalam film of all time globally, which is clearly an achievement of tantamount greatness. Noteworthy is that it achieves this feat without the help of dubbed version releases, setting up for an even bigger behemoth of a victory.
It overtook some big name titles to achieve this feat, 2018: Everyone is A Hero, and Pulimurugan that held the record since 2016. The film consists of a stellar cast with Soubin Shahir, Sreenath Bhasi, Balu Varghese amongst others, revolves around a rescue mission a group of friends embark on, after they decide to go on a leisurely trip and is based on a true story. The cinematography and narrative has clearly touched the hearts of viewers around the globe.
Despite this remarkable achievement, Manjummel Boys doesn’t look like it will stop anytime, as it is marching on with full steam to cross ₹200 Crores in box office collections globally, and eternally engraving its legacy in the Malayalam film industry. It also has a strong fanbase in Tamil Nadu collecting around ₹40 Crores, which makes sense considering the film’s beautifully placed homage to Kamal Hassan’s Gunaa.
Directed by Chidambaram, Manjummel Boys launched worldwide on February 22, 2024 to widespread critical positive reviews, so make sure you get on the same boat as well to see what the world is talking about.
