Manoj Bajpayee Adds Personal Touch For Disney+ Hotstar’s ‘Gulmohar’

In a unique promotional campaign for his upcoming direct-to-OTT film ‘Gulmohar’, National Award winning actor Manoj Bajpayee takes the viewers through his own old home back in his hometown.

Going down the memory lane Manoj Bajpayee remembers the fond memories of the nooks and corners of his ancestral home in Belwa Bahauri situated in Bihar, where he spent his entire childhood.

He talks about how opportunities take people away from their homes to new places but revisiting the old home brings back all those cherished memories. Relating it to his latest film ‘Gulmohar’, Bajpayee describes it as a story that has something for everyone. It’s a story that will choke you at moments but will also bring a smile on your face.

‘Gulmohar’ by Rahul V. Chittella (‘Azaad’, ‘Shor Se Shuruat’) follows the final four days, leading up to Holi, of the Batra family as they pack their belongings to move out of their more than three decades old family home. Amid the chaos of packing up the house, the film interweaves individual story-lines of various members of this house, who are recognizable characters to most of us, and portrays their interpersonal relationships, as we unfold secrets of the past, tensions of the present and uncertainties of the future.

A heartfelt family drama ‘Gulmohar’ is produced by Fox Star Studio in association with Chalk Board Entertainment and Autonomous Works. Apart from Manoj Bajpayee, the film also stars veteran National Award winning actress Sharmila Tagore, who is returning to big screen after a gap of almost a decade, BAFTA Award nominee Suraj Sharma, National Award nominee Simran Rishi Bagga and veteran National Award winner actor Amol Palekar among others.

Manoj Bajpayee was last seen in a few OTT projects like ‘Ray’, ‘The Family Man’, ‘Dial 100’, and ‘Silence… Can You Hear It?’. The actor is also working on his next Netflix project titled ‘Soup’ alongside Konkana Sensharma that is directed by celebrated filmmaker Abhishek Chaubey.
