As soon as Manoj Bajpayee starrer ‘Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai’ finally made its direct-to-OTT premiere on the Zee5 streaming platform last week, the film has been receiving unanimously rave reviews from critics and OTT viewers. The film’s direction, Manoj Bajpayee’s impeccable performance and a gripping screenplay are being admired all around.
And now, ‘Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai’ has achieved another feat on the globally renowned movies platform. The film has cracked the top 250 highest rated Indian movies list on IMDb and is currently placed on Rank 218, which is now even one place ahead of S.S. Rajamouli’s ‘RRR’. ‘Bandaa’ has got a user rating of 7.6/10 so far.
And in doing that, ‘Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai’ is also ahead of some other popular Indian films such as ‘Veer Zaara’, ‘Mother India’, ‘Mr. India’, and ‘Minnal Murali’, amongst others.
The extent of the popularity and craze amongst streaming audiences for ‘Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai’ is such that fans are demanding that the movie should get a theatrical release it deserves. In fact, the film’s lead actor Manoj Bajpayee has even stated in an interview that a discussion is already being held among the stakeholders about ‘Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai’ getting a limited release in cinemas. And if that indeed happens, then it would be a rare case of a direct-to-OTT film getting a theatrical release after its streaming premiere.
