The trailer of Amazon’s upcoming original series ‘Maradona: Blessed Dream’ is out now and it’s something that will leave you overwhelmed. Capturing the legendary footballer’s journey, ‘Maradona: Blessed Dream’ will be Amazon’s first international title to release in India with dubs in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Bengali alongside English and is part of its earlier announced festival line up. Beginning with early years of his life in Argentina, Amazon Prime Video’s ‘Maradona: Blessed Dream’ follows the iconic soccer player Diego Armando Maradona as he rises to success and fame at a very young age. So much so that he was considered to become better than Pele as he grows up.
Coming from a humble background Maradona had his own set of triumphs and challenges as his game took him from Barcelona and Napoli to playing a significant role in making his national team win the World Cup in Mexico in ‘86.
Not all that glitters is gold and while he excelled in professional life his personal life was messed up. Though he lived his life and played his game on his own terms his life was embroiled in controversies that involved drugs, sex, money and more.
‘Maradona: Blessed Dream’ on Amazon Prime Video is a ten part biographical series that tracks the legendary footballer’s journey that began with dreams and hopes and despite having faced his share of hard times how he went on to take over the world of football and win millions of hearts.
‘Maradona: Blessed Dream’ stars Nazareno Casero (‘Historia de un Clan’), Juan Palomino (‘Magnifica 70’) and Nicolas Goldschmidt (‘Supermax’) portraying Diego Armando Maradona through different stages of his life. Julieta Cardinali (‘En Terapia’, ‘Valentin’), Laura Esquivel (‘Patito Feo’), Mercedes Morán (‘Diarios de Motocicleta’, ‘El Reino’), Pepe Monje (‘Amor en Custodia’) and Peter Lanzani (‘El Clan’, ‘El Reino’) also feature prominently in the series.
While Alejandro Aimetta serves as showrunner and director for the episodes filmed in Argentina, Mexico and Uruguay, Roger Gual and Edoardo De Angelis directed the episodes shot in Spain and Italy respectively. Aimetta co-wrote ‘Maradona: Blessed Dream’ alongside Guillermo Salmerón (‘El Marginal) and Silvina Olschansky (‘El Marginal’). BTF Media has co-produced ‘Maradona: Blessed Dream’ with Dhana Media and Latin We.
The first five episodes of ‘Maradona: Blessed Dream’ will release on 29th October, 2021, followed by episodes 6 and 7 on 5th November, episode 8 on 12th November, episode 9 on 19th November and final episode 10 on 26th November.
