Marathi Film ‘Ghar Banduk Biryani’ Gets Theatrical Release Date!

Acclaimed filmmaker Nagraj Manjule’s much-awaited Marathi film ‘Ghar Banduk Biryani’ has got a release date in the theatres, much to the delight of fans of the filmmaker. The film will arrive in theatres across India on 30th March. Incidentally, the ‘Ghar Banduk Biryani’ release date coincides with the auspicious festive day of Ram Navami. Ram Navami is a bank holiday in most states in the country, plus it is a Thursday. This will allow the film to leverage an extended weekend, to ensure good footfalls in the theatres.

Film enthusiasts most definitely know all about stellar filmmaker Nagraj Manjule, who’s earlier made films such as Sairat, Jhund and Fandri. Nagraj Manjule is on board ‘Ghar Banduk Biryani’ as its creative director. He’s also playing a major role in the film, alongside lead actors Sayaji Shinde and Akash Thosar. The film is written and directed by Hemant Awtade. Nagraj Manjule is the co-writer of the film.

‘Ghar Banduk Biryani’ also stars Somnath Awghade, Pravin Dalimbkar and Suraj Pawar in pivotal roles. The film is an action drama, with loads of high octane gun fights and cat-and-mouse chases to add to the fun for audiences. Not much is known about the actual plot of the film.

Interestingly, ‘Ghar Banduk Biryani’ will become yet another Marathi film to enjoy a pan-Indian release. The film will also be released in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu, along with the Marathi original. Marathi films have enjoyed unprecedented success in recent times. Riteish Deshmukh’s Marathi film and directorial debut ‘Ved’ has been running to packed houses in Maharashtra. Let’s hope ‘Ghar Banduk Biryani’ enjoys similar success at the theatres.
