Highly acclaimed Tamil filmmaker Mari Selvaraj has announced a new film. After teasing the poster with a banana leaf, the filmmaker launched the title of the film.
The movie is interesting because it looks like a Disney+Hotstar original. The streaming giant in collaboration with Navvi Studios is producing the movie.
Regardless, the movie is called Vaazhai. In case you are unaware, Vaazhai in Tamil is called a Banana. Perhaps that’s the reason Mari Selvaraj was teasing the movie on a poster of a Banana leaf.
In the poster as well, we can find four boys who are talking among themselves above a banana farm. As anticipated, the setting of the movie looks rural with a typical hilly view.
Regardless, Vaazhai stars Kalaiyarasan and Nikhila Vimal in lead roles. The details about the child artists are yet to be revealed.
Director Mari Selvaraj is known for making films on social issues such as Pariyerum Perumal and Karnan. Fans were extremely excited for his next announcement which may feature promising young star Dhruv Vikram.
But this one doesn’t seem like the same project so either fans will have to wait more or the Dhruv Vikram film is already scrapped.
Also, the third movie by the filmmaker; Maamallan Will certainly be a theatrical release because it has Udhayanidhi Stalin apart from Keerthy Suresh, Vadivelu, and Fahadh Faasil.
