Marvel’s been doing great in its web-series division. With WandaVision, coming out earlier in the year and breaking records, to the recent The Falcon and The Winter Soldier already keeping people engaged with just the first episode, it has been a successful ride. Besides these two, Marvel will also be releasing Loki on June 11 and Hawkeye, sometime later in the year.
Even though Marvel has a bunch of web-series to come out besides these four, it looks like they are planning for one more. Apparently, there are plans for Marvel coming out with a Hawkeye spin-off. This would be based on the superhero “Echo”, who is already coming to screens through Hawkeye first.
Though there has been no official announcement on this, it is being said that writers Etan Cohen and Emily Cohen are already attached to write and executive produce the series. A writer’s room is already being assembled for the spin-off at the moment. The role of Echo will be played by Alaqua Cox, who is already essaying the role in Hawkeye.
As for who Echo is, she is Marvel’s deaf Native American superhero, who held the title of Ronin before passing it onto Clint Barton a.k.a Hawkeye. Named Maya Lopez, she has the ability to perfectly copy someone’s movements or fighting making her a deadly opponent in a battle. In the comic she has worked with superheroes like Daredevil, Moon Knight and also the Avengers.
Besides, upcoming series like Loki and Hawkeye coming out this year, Marvel will be releasing series that includes “Ms. Marvel”, “Moon Knight”, “She-Hulk”, “What If?”, “Secret Invasion”, “Armor Wars” and a untitled Wakanda series.
