Marvel’s “Shang-Chi”: A Phenomenal Weekend At The Box Office!

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is one movie from Marvel that everyone has been looking forward to. Now that the movie has been released it is getting exactly the treatment it deserves. That’s right, the movie has been a major hit amongst the critics and has also racked up quite phenomenal ratings, and keeping that in mind, Shang-Chi is doing amazingly well in major Box Offices around the world, including India. Shang-Chi was released on the 3rd of September and with the first weekend in, one will definitely say Marvel is the magic Indian Box Office needed at the moment.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings was one of the much anticipated Marvel movies of Phase 4 and also 2021. The movie has an impressive and massive Asian cast and brings the story of Marvel’s first-ever Asian hero on screen. Now, with such a strong pitch, we can definitely expect the movie to do well and in a post-pandemic-ridden situation like this Shang-Chi has one of the most impressive earnings in the Indian Box Office after a long time now.

The weekend has gone by, and the first weekend is always one of the most important for a movie that releases on Friday. As for Shang-Chi, the movie earned a whopping Rs. 3-3.2 crores in the box office. Saturday was massive as it brought in around Rs. 3.5 crores and Sunday brought in a superb Rs. 4.25 crores approximately. Now, with all this, the weekend racked up a massive collection that has crossed Rs. 10.75 Crores. The coming week will be crucial for Shang-Chi as it will determine what sort of a mark it has left on the Indian audience.

But, as far as collections are concerned, this is by far the best one India Box office has seen since the Post-pandemic era. If it would have been the normal times, this would have been considered a decent earning at the Box Office, but given the circumstances, it’s nothing less than stunning. Also, Shang-Chi has left a tremendous impact on moviegoers in North India. Delhi NCR regions and UP were some of the highest contributors along with Andhra/Nizam regions. The South Indian market was relatively slowed down on Sunday, but the North Indian market flourished more on Sunday, balancing the nationwide collection out.

As far as International markets are to be seen, the movie is doing phenomenally well in The States, along with South Korea, Japan, and European countries like France and Russia. The movie is yet to release in China, and given how big of a Chinese influence Shang-Chi and The Legend of the Ten Rings have, it is expected to make a good collection there too.

Marvel and the creators of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings are expecting the movie to do well in the Asian circuit since it has extremely high Asian influence and also it being one of the first Asian movies from Marvel. Shang-Chi has received rave reviews from everywhere, be it a critic, a Marvel fan, or just a person who enjoys movies. Adding all these up with the massive Marvel fan base in India, it would be interesting to see how the movie fans out in the coming week
