Marvel Studios Fires Kang Actor Jonathan Majors After Assault Guilty Verdict

Marvel Studios has fired Jonathan Majors after he was found guilty of harassment and reckless assault. The actor is best known for his work as Kang the Conqueror in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

A six-person NYC jury found Majors guilty of harassment and assault in his domestic violence trial. The case was filed against him by his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari. Many studio representatives have confirmed their decision to not move forward with Majors.

Judge Michael Gaffey has set February 6 as the sentencing date for Jonathan Majors. The actor may face up to a year in prison or may get sentenced to probation. The 34-year-old star was supposed to become the primary antagonist of Marvel Studios’ The Multiverse Saga (Phase Four-Six). As a result of this verdict, Marvel is now referring to ‘Avengers: The Kang Dynasty’ as ‘Avengers 5’.

No one knows Marvel Studios’ plans after this debacle. Many believe that the studio will likely recast the role of Kang the Conqueror, or they could shift their attention towards the establishment of a new villain, such as Doctor Doom. Either way, the studio has a lot on its plate now.

Despite the verdict, Majors “has faith in the process and looks forward to fully clearing his name,” said his defense lawyer, Priya Chaudhary.

Jonathan Majors made his MCU debut through Loki Season 1. After that, he appeared in ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’, which grossed over $475 million globally. He also became a part of MGM’s Creed III, which minted over $275 worldwide. His last acting role was in Loki Season 2 as Victor Timely, one of Kang’s variants. Stay tuned for more updates.
