Marvel’s Blade is losing its edge with every passing day, and the list of people associated with the project is now longer than the cast list. Once again, there are major changes with the project, leading to increasing frustration among MCU fans.
It is reported that Yann Demange is no longer associated with the project. To provide some context, Demange was the second director given the responsibility to direct the film.
There is also a change in the screenwriting team. Eric Pearson, known for his work on Black Widow, is now involved in writing for Blade. Pearson was also associated with the Fantastic Four project.
Rumors have circulated about Mahershala Ali’s involvement as the lead. Although there were rumors that he might leave the project, there has been no confirmation about his departure.
Inside sources indicate that Marvel wants to perfect the Blade film and does not want to rush its production. With a packed schedule that includes Deadpool & Wolverine, Captain America: Brave New World, Thunderbolts, and Fantastic Four, Marvel needs time to get it right.
Announced in 2019, the Blade film is taking a considerable amount of time to develop. With a November 2025 release date, Marvel needs to take the project seriously, as fans are losing interest.
