Marvel‘s “Ironheart” is consistently in news and this time for finding it’s director. Latest reports reveal that Marvel Studios has boarded Sam Bailey and Angela Barnes to direct “Ironheart” series for Disney+.
The show features Dominique Thorne starring as Riri Williams who is a super genius inventor and creator of the most advanced armour suit since Iron Man. It was recently reported that Anthony Ramos is joining the cast of the show.
Besides, Ryan Coogler’s production company Proximity has also come on board as producers. Proximity signed a Disney deal in February 2021 and has recently backed “Space Jam: A New Legacy” as well as the Oscar winner ” Judas and the Black Messiah”. Alongside Marvel Studios’ Kevin Feige, Coogler, Zini Coogler, Sev Ohanian and Chinaka Hodge will executive produce. Chinaka Hodge was tapped as the main writer of the series announced back in 2020.
Sam Bailey co-created the Emmy-nominated ” Brown Girls ” and is also the creator of ” You’re So Talented” , which saw it’s world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival. She also served as a producer and director to the final season (as well as the season prior) of Netflix’s ” Dear White People “. Bailey’s directorial credits include Powderkeg’s “East of La Brea”. While Barnes has also helmed upcoming season 4 of “Atlanta” and episodes of “Mythic Quest” and “Blindspotting” respectively. Stay tuned for more updates.
