Okay. There has been a lot of rumors and reports going around the Marvel / Disney+ camp with regards to Marvel’s upcoming web-series ‘Loki’. And one repeatedly popping up report that we keep hearing is that ‘Loki’ has already been renewed for a second season – even before a proper trailer or release date has been released or announced for the first season.
It is not fully surprising due to the popularity of both the character and the actor who portrays the Norse God, Tom Hiddleston. The actor has become somewhat of a phenomenon, especially for his portrayal of Loki and his popularity has allowed him to come on 6 Marvel films so far, with him being the primary villain in two of them (maybe a semi-villain in two others, but that depends on people’s perspective). Hiddleston’s portrayal of Loki shows the character’s nuanced inner struggle, with him varying from being a villain to an anti-villain and back and forth throughout the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
‘Loki’ will continue off from ‘Avengers: Endgame’ where he used the Tesseract to travel through time and space to change the Earth’s history. Another reported rumor which apparently could be true is that Loki will be bisexual as well as gender-fluid (the second part quite literally). Multiple actors have been said to portray Loki alongside the rest of Hiddleston for this series, with Sophia Di Martino being spotted with Loki’s attire, meaning she could portray the female aspect of Loki. Richard E. Grant has also been rumored to play an older Loki.
Loki is bisexual according to the old Norse myths so the representation of a bisexual character is actually not a forced entry but instead a nuanced addition we just ddidnt know about. Loki will reportedly have multiple lovers on the show and we can’t wait to see Hiddleston (and the others, if the reports are true) to tackle this more nuanced character.
