The digital revolution has transformed the way we consume content, and India’s entertainment landscape is no exception. Over the past few years, OTT platforms have emerged as a significant force. With the advent of the pandemic, OTT platforms witnessed an unprecedented surge in popularity, making them an integral part of our lives. Now, the 54th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) is all set to recognize and honour this booming industry.

Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur recently announced this groundbreaking development during a curtain-raiser event held in New Delhi. The decision to include OTT content in IFFI is a testament to the growing influence of digital platforms and their impact on the Indian media and entertainment landscape.

A total of 32 entries from 15 OTT platforms, spanning 10 languages, have been submitted for consideration at this year’s IFFI. This diverse pool of entries showcases the rich tapestry of stories and talents that OTT platforms have brought to the forefront.

In addition to recognizing the excellence of Indian OTT content, IFFI will also honor Hollywood legend Michael Douglas with the prestigious Satyajit Ray Excellence in Film Lifetime Award.

OTT inclusion recognizes the transformative impact of digital platforms and their role in shaping the way we experience and consume content.
