Remember the 2022 Oscars? It won 6 Oscars. The movie was greatly celebrated and it won in most categories it was nominated for. Well, deserving win. The movie is indeed truly great.
But it did something greater. It joined the list of some of the ultra elite franchises in Hollywood history where the second part is even better than the already great first part.
Example?
The Godfather.
But look at the tragedy. Dune Part 2: The Prophecy won only two Oscars in the category of Best Sound and Best Visual Effects.
The movie most certainly deserved a win in the category of music and set designs. But anyway, it is what it is.
This is a big snub and everyone knows that Dune Part 2 deserved way more awards than what it won.
Regardless, the fans and fanatics of the film took over social media to rant about the big snub and there was a sort of meltdown. But like we always say, Oscars or any award for that matter are not the standards through which we should judge a film. They can be highly biased and unreliable. We have discovered it enough times in history. Dune Part 2 will always remain a wonderful film no matter how many Oscars it wins.
