On Wednesday, Amazon Prime Video released the news that blockbuster “Master” will be streaming online on Amazon Prime Video. The movie will be going live on the 29th of January, 2021. It sent waves of excitement to people everywhere, as this has been one of the most awaited blockbusters that people were expecting to watch on an OTT platform. Even though it got people excited about the digital release of the movie, one thing that is upsetting people is the language issues of the digital release.
Many were expecting to have the dubbed version of the movie in the most preferred languages at the least. This doesn’t seem to be the case, as Prime Video will be releasing Master only with its original Tamil audio and Malayalam and Telugu dubbed version, with the English subtitles. Many are left disappointed to know that there won’t be any dubbed version of the movie with Hindi and Kannada languages available.
Prime Video is getting a lot of flak due to the language and dubbing versions that it has been promising people with at the moment. This is not the first time that Amazon Prime Video has dealt with such issues; in the past too with the release of its super hit web series Mirzapur, The Family Man and others, it had dealt a lot with the delay of dubbed versions in the regional languages. Though it has mentioned to the fans that it will try to bring the movie with other dubbed versions, it seems far from reality at the moment.
Master released in theatres on the 13th of January, 2021 and within 15 days, the movie was declared to have it’s digital release too. The movie stars Vijay and Vijay Sethupathi against each other, while Thalapathy Vijay plays the titular role of Master, a professor named John Durairaj, Vijay Sethupathi will be seen assessing the role of Bhavani. The movie is directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, who has also written the screenplay with Rathna Kumar and Pon Parthiban. The movie was supposed to be released in theatres, back in 2020 but the inevitable pandemic delayed the release.
