In a heartfelt tribute, the streaming platform Max has added an in memoriam message to two episodes of the hit HBO drama “Euphoria” to honor the late Angus Cloud, the actor who brought the beloved character Fezco to life.
Angus Cloud’s journey prior to his role in “Euphoria,” had never ventured into the world of professional acting. In fact, the director caught him while working as a waiter. His fresh talent and earnest portrayal of the kindhearted drug dealer Fezco resonated deeply with audiences and showcased his remarkable potential as an actor.
Max’s touching tribute to Angus Cloud takes the form of an in memoriam message that appears at the beginning of the pilot episode and the season 2 premiere of “Euphoria.” The tribute reads, “In memory of Angus Cloud 1998 – 2023,” accompanied by a poignant black-and-white photograph of the young actor.
While “Euphoria” may have been Cloud’s breakout role, his talent extended beyond the small screen. He also graced the silver screen with his presence, leaving an impression in films such as “North Hollywood,” “The Line,” and “Freaky Tales.”
On July 31, 2023, Cloud’s family announced that the young actor had passed away at the age of 25 in their Oakland home. His family shared that Cloud had been grappling with the profound loss of his father and had openly discussed his battles with mental health. In a statement, Cloud’s loved ones emphasized the importance of reaching out for support and breaking the silence surrounding mental health struggles.
It is indeed a great gesture by HBO to add the tribute. Sadly, Euphoria will never be the same.
