Megalopolis’ New Trailer Just Released!

Francis Ford Coppola is coming up with his new grand film Megalopolis. About a month ago, the official trailer for the movie was launched and today, another trailer was released for the movie. The movie is a dream project of Francis which he has created for his own sake, following the aesthetic slogan of “Art for Art’s Sake”. The movie is written, directed and produced by Francis himself with a huge budget of $120 million. The huge budget and Francis coming forward to produce the film shows his dedication towards this project.

The previous trailer was more of a theatrical trailer that showcased some glimpses of the movie shown and gave a brief description of the movie to the audience. It showcased the movie to be a retelling of the fall of Roman civilization from the context of the United States. The movie showed a bunch of talented cast which include Adam Driver, Giancarlo Esposito, Nathalie Emmanuel, Aubrey Plaza etc. John Driver plays the protagonist of the movie playing the role of a genius architect who wishes to build a utopian city called Megalopolis.

The new trailer however, showcases at first, the manifesto of Coppola behind creating this film. The trailer begins with several films of Coppola flashing on the screen including The Godfather, Dracula and Apocalypse. Then we see some of the harshest criticism the movies received. With this Coppola shows how his thinking was ahead of his time, as those movies received great treatment later. He also proclaims, how this movie too is his own personal project which he will complete no matter what others say, hence he is producing it himself too. What follows is a more descriptive glimpse of the movie, where we clearly get the idea of what the movie is actually about.

The new trailer, by its looks, seems like an attack on the critics and the people who rejected his idea for this film and caused it to be released. The movie is his proclamation that this movie is his passion and his dream and he won’t care for anybody (even the audience) to release it.
