Memers Are Not Trollers: Web Series Actors Supports Meme Culture

The last month of the year is here and it’s almost nearing the end of 2020. This will be one hell of a year that would go down in history and this generation will probably remember it till their last breath and why wouldn’t one remember this? This year legit stopped the world and all of us ended up being confined to our homes and with our families. God bless the Internet, because we don’t know what we would have done without this. Starting from the year, the pandemic and then the various series and shows that hit the OTT platforms, one thing remained constant and that is the production of memes.

A wholesome bunch of this fun memes kept us entertained over the months. It has become a vital part of our internet lives now. And this is what promotes a show, series or a movie too. Most of the time, these memes are taken from the various stills of a scene and the dialogues are taken from those scenes that end up being iconic. The memes of Gangs of Wasseypur, still are making rounds and those are evergreen. Memes from Mirzapur, Sacred Games, The Family Man and this year’s Paatol Lok and Scam 1992 were the ones that contributed to this meme culture, making it more enjoyable.

There is a thin line though. A thin line between memes and trolls, a slip of words here and there and a meme can turn into being a troll. That is what keeps the actors of these famous web series awake at times, what if something inappropriate comes out and the world is laughing at them, but now the meme makers are being creative now. They know what makes a meme and what makes a troll and these creatives do their jobs accordingly.

Pratik Gandhi, Jaideep Ahlawat, Divyendu Sharma, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Pankaj Tripathi have gone on record and said how entertaining these memes are and that they feel honoured to be a part of this. In many ways, this contributes in promoting their works and of course their shows.

So people know the difference between a troll and a meme. Enjoy memes and share the happiness, do not troll people that are doing phenomenal jobs in their field of work and bringing us entertainment. Try converting those into memes. You will be appreciated.
