Michael B. Jordan Set To Expand Creed Universe At Amazon

Michael B. Jordan has hit a bullseye in his feature film directorial debut ‘Creed III’. The boxing drama has received a big thumbs-up from critics and audiences alike and that too without the presence of Rocky Balboa’s cult character played by franchise veteran Sylvester Stallone.

As per a recent report via Deadline, it looks like MGM owner Amazon is set to further delve into the world of ‘Creed’ across both films and television and for which discussions between Michael B. Jordan and Amazon are already underway.

Although nothing concrete is known about the potential ‘Creed-Verse’, it is being reported that an anime series related to the Rocky franchise is in the works along with an idea for a live-action series as well. Furthermore, a project focused on the character of Adonis Creed’s daughter Amara is also being brainstormed.

And as far as the sequel to ‘Creed III’ is concerned, its lead actor Michael B. Jordan had earlier revealed that the fourth Creed movie will be definitely happening.

Previously, there were also talks about a Rocky prequel series being developed by Sylvester Stallone. It is supposed to take place during the 1960s period, however, official confirmation by Amazon is still awaited regarding the show.

Moreover, it was reported earlier that a Rocky spin-off movie focused on Dolph Lundgren’s Ivan Drago character and his son Viktor Drago was also in the cards. Other than all these films and series, a seventh installment of the Rocky movie was also being discussed and cannot be ruled out.

Following the encouraging box-office and critical success of ‘Creed III’, the prospects for a full fledged ‘Creed Verse’ look bright as of now. And after the multi-billion-dollar Amazon-MGM deal, Amazon clearly understands the importance of the longstanding ‘Rocky’ and ‘Creed’ franchise and that they would serve as one of the company’s most valuable assets in the long run. So, it would be interesting to see how Amazon capitalizes on the immensely popular franchise.
