Middle East Telecommunications Giant Launches OTT

Etisalat, the mulitnational telecommunication conglomerate based in U.A.E., has launched it’s OTT service last week. The cloud-based service named Switch TV, was created with the colloboration of another telecommunications giant, Synamedia.

The Middle East operating, Emirati telco has launched SwitchTV by using Synamedia’s infinite cloud TV platform and end-to-end video network portfolio, allowing Etisalat to process, acquire & encrypt and distribute video to all types of digital devices, monetizing it in the process. The SwitchTV OTT service is a lateral change for residents of the United Arab Emirates, and it can be a good one.

Yves Pardines, CEO of Synamedia, has said that the app has already been downloaded by potential customers and the feedback it has received regarding the features and experience has been positive. He adds that Etisalat has a wide range of options for a broad audience, from those looking for free content to those demanding premium services.

With a varied customer base, SwitchTv has provided content in Arabic, Western and Asian languages, with users having the options to choose their subscription packages and differing rental structures. It has a library showcasing over 10000 hours of content from varying media giants such as Disney, StarzPlay, MBC, EROS Now, Fox, Warner Bros., BBC, Sony Pictures, Zee, ART and much more.
