Mike Flanagan, prolific creator of compelling horror content, has another horror series coming soon. And as has been the case with most of recent previous works, the new series will also premiere on streaming giant, Netflix. The title of the new series is a quirky ‘The Fall of the House of Usher’. It is to be a limited series, adapted from the stories of Edgar Allen Poe.
The social media handles of Netflix announced the news of the new series coming to the platform, though there was no other information about the cast or crew of the series. ‘The Fall of the House of Usher’ will be Mike Flanagan’s fifth series for Netflix, after the previously released ‘The Haunting of Hill House’, ‘The Haunting of Bly Manor’, the just-released ‘Midnight Mass’, and the upcoming adaptation of ‘The Midnight Club’.
All the previous four series are productions of Mike Flanagan’s film production house ‘Intrepid Pictures’, which he runs along with Trevor Macy. ‘The Fall Of The House Of Usher’ will also be produced under the same banner.
Edgar Allan Poe is a nineteenth century American author, known for his short stories, particularly his tales of mystery and the macabre. Various movies and short films have been made based on Edgar Allan Poe’s works in the past. The Black Cat, The Mansion Of Madness, The Tell-Tale Heart, The Cask of Amontillado, and several more, along with anthologies based on his works are some of the projects already made. The Fall Of The House Of Usher has also been attempted to be captured in film earlier by several filmmakers.
