Miller’s Girl looked promising, at least from the outside. But as soon as you start to dig deeper into it, momentarily, it might feel a bit underwhelming. Lionsgate, this time, didn’t hit the jackpot but again, a film like this has the possibility to work on the OTT space.
So, when is it streaming?
The film was released on the 26th of January but didn’t manage to earn the big bucks in the BO. Especially facing some major competitions, along with very small scale release, it showed no promises in terms of finances.
If you read Emily Bronte, you will understand the vibe of the film as it has the depressing gothic essence with a plethora of relationship dynamics, a complete entertainment one must say.
Focusing on a girl, Jenna Ortega’s character Cairo manages to draw the attention of the viewers.
Cairo, a wealthy 18-year-old, navigates a seductive yet unremarkable life in her Tennessee mansion. Bored and seeking approval, she engages in a risky flirtation with her high school writing instructor, Jonathan Miller.
The dynamic between them initially crackles with wrongness, but the movie loses its invigorating edge as Cairo’s provocative actions and Jonathan’s midlife struggles unfold, culminating in an unintentionally humorous narrative twist.
Now, the film will be gracing the field of OTT, as per the recent updates, Miller’s Girl will be available on most platforms such as BMS Strean, Amazon, and Google in the VOD format from 16th February.
In India, the streaming of the film isn’t yet confirmed but as most trends suggest, the 16th won’t be the date, that’s for sure. You can expect Prime Video to be the destination to treat this as most of the content produced by Lionsgate is already up there, but any official news is yet to hit the market.
