Millie Bobby Brown Is All Set To Adapt This Novel For Netflix!

Emmy-nominated British actress Millie Bobby Brown took the world by storm (sometimes, very literally) with her portrayal of the eccentric Eleven in Netflix’s megahit horror and science fiction thriller ‘Stranger Things’. Since then, she has gone on to start in widely appreciated titles like the Enola Holmes duology, ‘Godzilla vs. Kong’, ‘Godzilla: King of the Monsters’, ‘Damsel’, and more.

Her upcoming project, however, is a genre-shift and an intriguing one at that. Next up, Brown will be seen starring in and producing an adaption of her own novel ‘Nineteen Steps’, which she co-authored with Kathleen McGurl, for Netflix!

The story follows a young girl, Nellie Morris, navigating the challenges of living in London in the thick of the Second World War, all while charting a budding romance with an American airman.

A New York Times bestseller published in September 2023, the plot is inspired from the experiences of Brown’s own grandmother. At the historically rich core of the story is the Bethnal Green Tube disaster. One of the worst civilian disasters in the UK during the war, the air raid incident claimed the lives of 173 people.

Four-time Oscar nominee Anthony McCarten, known for ‘The Theory of Everything’ is all set to adapt the screenplay. Although no more information has been revealed about the project, it sure seems to be a promising one.

Stay tuned to this space for further updates as they role out!
