Nobody knew about Milly Alcock before HBO’s ‘House of the Dragon’. Now, she’s everywhere! The ongoing GOT spin-off show is performing outstandingly in terms of viewership. It has received a spectacular response for its action sequences, characters, visuals, music, and acting performances from the viewers. But there is one performer that has stolen all the spotlight. Yes, we are talking about Milly Alcock!
The young Australian actress has become a global sensation after appearing in HBO’s HOTD series. The way she stood out in a cast filled with exceptional acting talents was unbelievable. Her version of Rhaenyra Targaryen stole millions of hearts from all around the world. Unfortunately, HBO had to recast the character as per the demand of the story. Now, we have Emma D’Arcy as King Viserys’ daughter. And it will be tough for a lot of fans to accept her as the new Rhaenyra after witnessing Alcock’s mesmerising take on the character.
Alcock became a standout in the show. Rhaenyra has been described as proud, stubborn, charming, rebellious, and clever in the novels. But she is also quick to anger. Apart from these characteristics, she is a highly ambitious woman and an excellent dragon rider. Alcock displayed all these qualities perfectly as Rhaenyra in the show. In other words, we can say that the young princess is just the opposite of her father.
Where can we see Milly Alcock apart from ‘House of the Dragon’?
Milly Alcock has appeared in numerous TV shows before HOTD. She played supporting characters in shows like Janet King, A Place to Call Home, Fighting Season, Pine Gap, The Gloaming, The Reckoning, and Les Norton. She also plays Meg (one of the primary characters) in the Australian drama series, Upright.
What about Milly Alcock’s future projects?
The young Aussie does not have much on her plate for her future. Upright Season 2 and Phoebe Tonkin’s short film Furlough are the only confirmed projects having Milly Alcock. The former will release later this year. However, the short film is yet to get a release date.
‘House of the Dragon’ is available on Disney+ Hotstar. Stay tuned for more updates.
