Mimi, Kriti Sanon’s upcoming Bollywood movie was garnering major attention ever since it was announced. Mimi is indeed a unique film and Kriti Sanon was happy to lead the role in her first female-centric movie. Mimi is one such film that tells a truth that is not explored a lot in today’s society. Mimi for sure seems like a movie that might be able to break the stereotype. Going with that, Kriti Sanon, yesterday dropped the first poster of the movie, and today we have yet another gift from the creators.
The creators of Mimi, today released the motion poster for the movie. In just 43 seconds, the teaser with the soulful background music will definitely grab your attention and have you hooked, wanting more. The teaser shows Kriti Sanon and her growing baby bump in pictures from a span of 12 weeks to 40 weeks. The collection of these photos show the different emotions Kriti Sanon’s character goes through all these months of pregnancy.
The emotions on her face look so real, from happy smiling faces at times, to frustrated, angry ones, to sometimes the scared ones. These are emotions, which are common to every mother who goes through these excruciating yet happy months of pregnancy. But, will she be the mother here? No, at least that’s what the film is about.
Kriti Sanon plays the role of a surrogate mother, who takes on the role of bringing a child to this world without having any connections to the unborn child, apart from growing it inside of hers for 9 months. The movie is loosely based on the Marathi movie “Mala Aai Vhhaychy!”. Along with Kriti Sanon, the movie also stars Pankaj Tripathi, along with Supriya Pathak, Manoj Pahwa, and Sai Tamhankar.
The movie is directed by Laxman Utekar and produced by Dinesh Vijan, under his banner Maddock Films and also Jio Studios. The movie is written by Rohan Shankar and has music from the legendary AR Rahman. The trailer of the movie will be dropping on the 13th of July and as of now, there are no release dates announced for the movie.
