Mindhunter which is created by David Fincher who also serves as an executive producer and occasionally the director of the show came into 2016 brought to us by Netflix. The show garnered humongous praise for it’s writing and performances . The show is a crime thriller and is based on the novel of John E Douglas . The show has released 2 seasons but things got tricky for the show as it wasn’t renewed for a third season . This left the hardcore fans of the show in fear that Netflix might cancel the show . But why Netflix would do such this because the show is a hit and has gained a cult following ? Seems like it isn’t the first time of Netflix doing this . What came as a shock to everyone was that earlier this year the cast and crew were Released from their contracts and we’re advised to find other works as the series isn’t going to take off any time soon. The series was all but cancelled. Sometime after an official told to the media that the series is definitely put on hold and cast have been released from their contracts . This all has been done because of David Fincher’s upcoming movie Mank for which he has been busy and isn’t looking at anything else .
But he also clarified that earlier the plan was to take the series upto it’s 5th season and then then end it but it didn’t happen now. And seeing the Coronavirus pandemic the series isn’t likely to comeback to us untill mid to late 2021. But if everything goes well Netflix will renew the series soon enough. And when it does we are happy to share this with you that all of the original cast members are supposed to return for the third season. So that means we are going to see Jonathan Groff , Holt McCallany and Anna Torv back in action with some new criminal stories and of course the suspense around BTK Killer will be the highlight of the third season.
We hope Netflix renews the beloved show for a third season as soon as possible.
