Disney’s famous animated movie “Monsters Inc.” is hands down one of the most loved films by the company. Released in 2001, the movie has received immense love from fans of every age and group. After years, in 2013 Disney came out with its prequel “Monsters University” and now finally the original is getting its very own sequel in the form of an animated series. The series has been named as “Monsters At Work”.
Disney has been bringing up new characters along with the old ones for this monster smash and recently Disney announced that Mindy Kaling is the latest to join the cast of the voice actors for the series. Mindy will be lending her voice for the character of Val Little. Disney has described Val as an enthusiastic member of the Monsters, Inc. Facilities Team, famously known as the MIFT.
The brand new characters have been announced and the ones who will be lending the voices to them have also been revealed. Mindy Kaling joins the impeccable team that includes Ben Feldman as Tylor Tuskmon, Henry Winkler as scatterbrained boss Fritz, Lucas Neff as opportunistic plumber Duncan, Alanna Ubach as rule follower Cutter, Stephen Stanton as the custodial team Smitty and Needleman, and Aisha Tyler as Tylor’s mom Millie.
Some of the old cast from the original movie will also be reprising their roles, which most definitely includes our beloved team and the lovable Mike Wazowski and Sully. The series will follow the journey of monster Tylor Tuskmon, who dreams of scaring after successfully graduating from the prestigious Monster’s University. He is shocked to core to see “laugh” as the new motto for Monsters Inc. Struggling with the changes, Tuskmon must learn how to not only work with other monsters but also fulfill his dreams of becoming like his idols Mike and Sully.
The series was planned back in 2017 itself and was confirmed by the company in the same year. The series was planned for a 2020 release but was delayed and now will be releasing on the 2nd of July, 2021. This will also mark the 20th anniversary of the release of “Monsters Inc.” The series is being produced and developed by veteran animation genius Bob Gannaway from Disney.
