Tamil star Arun Vijay’s most recent theatrical endeavor, titled “Mission: Chapter 1”, had its debut during Pongal, sharing the spotlight with two other blockbuster titles, ‘Captain Miller’ and ‘Ayaalan’. Despite the obvious competitive edge the other two titles had over Mission Chapter:1, the crew’s bold attempt managed to receive decently positive reviews.
The story of the movie centres around Gunasekhar, aka Guna, who ends up being captured and kept in a prison in London as a consequence of a mission, and is doing everything in his capacity to break free and find his way back to his only daughter, Sana.
After having completed a rather victorious 25-day run on the silver screens, Mission: Chapter 1 was considered to be a profit. While its other theatrical release counterparts were preparing for their OTT releases, Mission: Chapter 1 decided to stall its OTT launch. It was rumoured to be released on February 16th, and then postponed to a tentative date sometime around March, but no official statement has come out yet.
Arun Vijay himself has taken to social media to address this concern, and to the best of his understanding, he has hinted that SunNXT has acquired rights to the movie and will be released on it, deviating from its earlier mentioned Netflix release. We will stay tuned to find out when and where it will finally be released, make sure you do too.
