Teaser for Akshay Kumar’s next ‘Mission Raniganj: The Great Bharat Rescue’ is here and it’s one . Helmed by Tinu Suresh Desai, ‘Mission Raniganj: The Great Bharat Rescue’ will release in cinemas on 6th October, 2023.
Set in Raniganj Coalfield on 13th November, 1989, ‘Mission Raniganj: The Great Bharat Rescue’ teaser shows how a group of miners get trapped when the mine horrifyingly collapses and gets flooded. And then begins their fight for survival and Jaswant Singh Gill’s relentless efforts to save them.
Initially titled as ‘Capsule Gill’ which was then changed to ‘The Great Indian Rescue’, the survival thriller drama, amidst the ‘India’ Vs ‘Bharat’ debate doing rounds, finally got a new name yesterday and that is ‘Mission Raniganj: The Great Bharat Rescue’.
‘Mission Raniganj: The Great Bharat Rescue’ is based on the life of Late Jaswant Singh Gill, a brave, honest and diligent mining engineer who led a challenging rescue mission to save mine workers during the Raniganj Coalfields collapse of 1989 in West Bengal. The film is touted to be an edge of the seat thriller showcasing Gill’s resilience to overcome adversities.
Directed by Tinu Suresh Desai (‘1920: London’, ‘Rustom’) and written by Deepak Kingrani, ‘Mission Raniganj: The Great Bharat Rescue’ stars Akshay Kumar, Parineeti Chopra, Kumud Mishra, Pavan Malhotra, Ravi Kishan, Varun Badola, Dibyendu Bhattacharya, Rajesh Sharma, Virendra Saxena, Shishir Sharma and Ananth Mahadevan among others.
‘Mission Raniganj: The Great Bharat Rescue’ is produced by Vashu Bhagnani, Jacky Bhagnani and Deepshikha Deshmukh under their Pooja Entertainment banner in association with Ajay Kapoor via his Ajay Kapoor Productions Pvt Ltd. ‘Mission Raniganj: The Great Bharat Rescue’ will release in cinemas on 6th October, 2023. Post theatrical streaming rights for the film are with Netflix.
