We at Binged had earlier informed our readers about much-loved Bollywood actor Mithun Chakraborty playing the lead in a Prime Video series. Titled ‘Bestseller’, the web series will mark the OTT debut of Mithun Da. This afternoon, Prime Video announced the release date for the series on its platform, along with a well-designed first look poster. ‘Bestseller’ will premiere on Prime Video on 18th February.
As can be gauged from the title of the show as well as the first poster, Bestseller centres on the world of bestselling books and the authors who create them. Mithun Chakraborty plays a crucial character in Bestseller. Shruti Haasan plays the female lead in the show, while Arjan Bajwa plays the male lead. Gauahar Khan, Sonalee Kulkarni, Satyajeet Dubey, among others, form the rest of the cast.
Prime Video series ‘Bestseller’ is an adaptation of Ravi Subramanian’s best-selling novel, titled “The Bestseller She Wrote”. The plot is incendiary, and is a heady cocktail of love, betrayal and redemption. The protagonist Aditya Kapoor is a banker turned bestselling author of pulp fiction. He comes across a besotted fan, Shreya Kaushik, who wants to become a bestselling author like him. Aditya has a torrid affair with Shreya, despite having a beautiful, loving wife. Arjan Bajwa will play Aditya, while Shruti Hassan will play Shreya.
‘Bestseller’ is produced by Siddharth P Malhotra and Sapna Malhotra’s Alchemy Films. Writer – director Mukul Abhyankar has helmed ‘Bestseller’. Film buffs will know him as the writer and director of the critically acclaimed Tabu – Manoj Bajpayee starrer, ‘Missing’
