Moderate Success to Prime Video’s First Buzzy Documentary!

Documentaries are a territory of Netflix India. They are famous for making the most famous and buzzy documentaries that usually manage to connect with the audiences. If you consider the case of titles like “Curry and Cyanide” and “The Hunt for Veerappan” then you realise how brilliantly they tapped into something which the Indian OTT players had been ignoring for a long long time.

Good for them, those documentaries even earned International recognition through their wide reach on the platform. Even Prime Video attempted a documentary on the blockbuster duo of Salim-Javed with a sparkling list of speakers like Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Yash and above all, Amitabh Bachchan.

With all these people in the cast, it was pretty evident that the documentary would be a matter of excitement among the people. Well, it certainly was.

But, the documentary failed to discuss anything new. The iconic writer duo did not even reveal why they separated after so many blockbusters together. One who follows Bollywood would have practically nothing new to gain from the series even though the editing is nice.

This has resulted in the performance of the series as it is gaining views only in India. It may be the most trending series on Prime Video India right now but unlike the Netflix India documentaries, it failed to grab international attention even after having such an illuminating list of guests.
