Some of you might already be aware that last month, the immensely popular 90s fantasy comedy show ‘Early Edition’ had received a pilot order for a series reboot by television broadcaster CBS. Then, earlier this month, it was also reported that the ‘Early Edition’ reboot series pilot will feature Alice Eve, Charles Michael Davis, Jay Ali, and Fiona Rene.
And now it has been apprised that the opening episode of ‘Early Edition’ reboot will reportedly (via Deadline) be helmed by graphic designer and television director Eric Dean Seaton. After making his television directorial debut with the teen sitcom ‘That’s So Raven’, Eric Dean Seaton went on to direct multiple episodes of renowned shows like ‘Modern Family’, ‘American Housewife’, ‘Superman and Lois’, ‘Supergirl’, and ‘The Flash’, to name a few.
The underlying premise of the parent show ‘Early Edition’ was based on an interesting idea. The show’s plot revolved around a Chicago-based stockbroker named Gary Hobson (played by Kyle Chandler), who somehow receives every day the Chicago Sun-Times newspaper one day earlier, that is, on the present day. He uses this unique information about tomorrow’s events and tries to prevent the bad ones from happening. Every day, he races against time for his new adventures.
Some changes have been made for the ‘Early Edition’ reboot. For instance, Kyle Chandler’s character Gary Hobson will be replaced by a female character named Beth. The central role of the stockbroker will be changed to an ambitious investigative journalist, which will be essayed by Alice Eve (Men in Black 3, Star Trek into Darkness, Iron Fist). Stay tuned to Binged for the latest updates on the ‘Early Edition’ reboot series.
