We have always been a fan of the Netflix documentaries. The platform has produced one of the best documentaries on Indian OTT and honestly, no one does it better than them.
As soon as they announced Modern Masters, it was meant with a super warm reception. But as soon as people watched the film, it all turned into a massive disappointment.
The editing is poor, there is unnecessary glamorization and there is practically nothing new (for the Telugu audience).
Looks like the entire focus of Netflix India was on banking the big name we call SS Rajamouli. There seems to be no effort whatsoever in making the film appealing or raw.
We can confidently say that even though a high-scaled advertisement, “The Romantics” based on Yash Chopra and YRF was a far better-edited series. If not raw, it was at least enjoyable to watch.
We can’t say that for the SS Rajamouli documentary at least. It’s high time Netflix India gets over this setback and works on bringing good documentaries again.
#ModernMasters expected a little more but its just like a random promotional interview..
