If you are looking for a short miniseries with some suspenseful plot, here is a recommendation for you. There are some highly talented filmmakers working in the Bangla film and OTT industry and in the last few years we have seen a huge surge in technically well made and carefully written shows.
‘Mohanagar’ is one such show and is streaming on Hoichoi. The show has two seasons and the first season only has 8 episodes in all. The first season is all about one single night and what happens in the crime-and-detection world of Dhaka that night. Created by Ashfaque Nipun, one of the finest filmmakers of the country, Mohanagar stars wonderful actors like Mosharraf Karim, Lutfur Rahman George, Shamol Mawla, Quazi Nawshaba Ahmed etc. The performances are convincing and the flow of the story is superb.
‘Mohanagar’ tells the story of a police station in the capital city Dhaka, where there is a sudden intel that a wanted criminal has returned to the city. Two senior officers go on to arrest the criminal, but in the meantime, a powerful businessman’s son gets himself arrested in a hit and run case. The officer who is running after the criminal is called by the businessman to negotiate for his son’s case.
