Apple TV+ has dropped the first two episodes of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters Season 1. The latest MonsterVerse entry has received mostly positive reviews, with praise directed at action sequences, the cast’s performances, and visuals. Will we get a second season? Let’s find out.
The helmer of the first two episodes, Matt Shakman, recently talked with Inverse about Season 2’s possibility. He did not utter a word about Legacy of Monsters’ future. However, he concluded the interviewer’s question with this statement:
“It’s definitely a part of this MonsterVerse and we are excited about that opportunity.”
Given the response Season 1 has received from both critics and viewers, Apple TV+ may announce the show’s renewal for a second season soon, probably after the culmination of Season 1, which has received a ‘fresh’ score of 91% on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 56 reviews.
Monarch: Legacy of Monsters takes place after the large-scale destructive battle between Godzilla and the MUTOs in the city of San Francisco. The event forces a pair of siblings to discover their father’s mysterious connection with Monarch, the top-secret monster-studying organisation. In addition, we see the father-son duo of Kurt Russell and Wyatt Russell playing the old and young versions of Army Officer Lee Shaw, respectively. Apart from the father-son duo, we have talents like Anna Sawai, Kiersey Clemons, Ren Watabe, Mari Yamamoto, Anders Holm, and many more in the show.
New episodes of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters come out every Friday on the Apple TV+ streaming platform. Stay tuned for more updates.
