When it comes to standing ovations, SXSW is notorious for not giving them. But there must be something special about Monkey Man, otherwise it would not have received a standing ovation.

Monkey Man has a 100% certified ‘fresh’ score on Rotten Tomatoes. Critics have praised the work of Dev Patel in the film, who has helmed and led the film. The actor gave everything he had to make it sensational. According to some reports, Patel suffered several injuries while filming the movie, including a broken hand, two broken toes, a shoulder injury, and an eye infection throughout filming Monkey Man. This level of effort shows how committed the Slumdog Millionaire fame was to his film.
