The Hollywood box office is touching sky-high numbers due to the mammoth box office collection of Godzilla x Kong. Even the Indian audience is more than excited about the film. But, we can’t be more excited about any Hollywood film right now than Monkey Man. The release of the movie “Monkey Man,” in India on April 19 is uncertain due to some reasons.
Even though the trailer got a lot of attention and the movie had a successful premiere at South by Southwest, reports are causing fans some sort of anxiety.
Universal Pictures India hasn’t mentioned the April 19 release date on social media anymore, and you can’t find the movie’s date on ticket platforms like BookMyShow either. This has made people wonder if the movie will actually come out when they expected.
According to some reports, the studio really wants to release “Monkey Man” on April 19, but they need approval from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The movie has a lot of violence, and the Indian CBFC is not as liberal as its USA counterpart. Also, they need permission from Universal Studios USA for any changes the CBFC asks for.
If everything goes smoothly, the movie will come out on April 19, but if not, it might be delayed until April 26. So, it is a sort of limbo that Monkey Man is stuck in.
Along with Dev Patel, the movie stars Sharlto Copley, Sikandar Kher, Sobhita Dhulipala, and Vipin Sharma. Even though it was supposed to come out on Netflix first, Jordan Peele liked the movie so much that he decided it should come out in theatres. It would be absolutely heartbreaking if Monkey Man does not get released in the Indian theatres. Let’s wait, coz that’s the only thing we can do as of now.
