Ryan Murphy’s ‘Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story’ has received its release date and a new teaser. Murphy has created this series with Ian Brennan. The project serves as a follow-up to the hit “Dahmer — Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story” series, which featured Evan Peters as the deranged protagonist. Season 2 of the anthology series will revolve around the 1996 conviction of the notorious Menendez brothers for the murders of their parents.
Nicholas Alexander Chavez and Cooper Koch play Lyle and Erik Menendez, respectively. On the other hand, Chloe Sevigny and Javier Bardem portray Mary Louise “Kitty” Menendez and José Menendez, Lyle and Erik’s parents. Here’s the teaser!
Per the show’s official synopsis, the prosecution blamed the brothers for their malicious intentions to inherit their family fortune. However, the brothers turned the tables by claiming that their actions resulted from fear from a lifetime of emotional, physical, and even sexual abuse at the hands of their parents.
The supporting cast includes Nathan Lane, Ari Graynor, Leslie Grossman, Dallas Roberts, Paul Adelstein, Jason Butler Harner, Michael Gladis, Enrique Murciano, Charlie Hall, Gil Ozeri, Tanner Stine, Larry Clark, Tessa Auberjonois, Jeff Perry, Marlene Forte, and more.
Apart from co-executive producing ‘Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story’ with Ryan Murphy, Brennan has also served as one of the directors for the show, along with Max Winkler, Michael Uppendahl, Paris Barclay, and more. The series will premiere on Netflix on September 19. Stay tuned for more updates.
