The eagerly anticipated Marvel superhero series ‘Moon Knight’ is slated to start streaming on the Disney+ Hotstar OTT platform in India from today onwards. Besides Kevin Feige, one of the show’s executive producers is Grant Curtis, who had also served as a producer in Sam Raimi’s acclaimed ‘Spider-Man’ trilogy starring Tobey Maguire. And Grant Curtis has recently teased about and expressed his willingness to see more Spider-Man movies made by Sam Raimi .
Regarding the possible continuation of Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy’s story arc, in a recent interview (via Gizmodo), Grant Curtis has stated that “There were other stories within those movies that did not get told. I hope someday, as any Spider-Man fan would tell you, that all those stories come out and that narrative continues.”
Sam Raimi’s first ‘Spider-Man’ (2002) movie is still remembered as one of the finest on-screen superhero origin stories. While ‘Spider-Man 2’ is widely regarded as arguably the best live-action Spider-Man movie ever made. ‘Spider-Man 2’ was a fine blend of emotional elements combined with some riveting actions scenes including the brilliant train stopping sequence.
Considering the immense popularity of Sam Raimi’s deftly executed first two Spider-Man films, it is only natural for diehard fans to expect and hope to see a fourth Spider-Man movie helmed by Sam Raimi with Tobey Maguire reprising the role as the web-slinging superhero. The widespread appreciation for Tobey Maguire’s recent cameo in ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ has further brought back hopes for his future reprisal in Sam Raimi’s potential sequel ‘Spider-Man 4’.
Sam Raimi is busy these days with the post-production work of his upcoming directorial ‘Doctor Strange in The Multiverse of Madness’. The ‘Doctor Strange’ sequel is slated for its theatrical release on 6th May 2022. The film would ostensibly take place after the events of ‘Avengers: Endgame’, ‘WandaVision’, and ‘Loki’ first season and would showcase Benedict Cumberbatch’s perilous journey into the mysterious multiverse with his associates to face a powerful new enemy.
