After Henry Cavill’s exit from ‘The Witcher’, the popularity of the show is at stake. Fans were not happy with the decision and they are not willing to watch any other actor in the role of Geralt of Rivia. In the meantime, just a few days after the release of The Witcher: Blood Origin, the series showrunner Declan De Barra has hinted at the possibility of more Witcher spin-offs in near future.
The spin-off series ‘The Witcher: Blood Origin‘ is set 1200 years before the events of the main series and it was released on the 25th of December this year and the response to it is disastrous. It has four episodes and is the second spin-off to The Witcher series after the 2021 animated film ‘The Witcher: Nightmare Of The Wolf’. The audience has not liked the series and it has got mostly negative comments. The novel series by Andrzej Sapkowski has endless possibilities for the adaptation and there are too many stories to be told with great improvisation. But focusing on more spin-offs at such a crucial time may prove to be bad for the franchise. The makers need to focus more on the 3rd season of ‘The Witcher’ and the further development of the story. It will be a difficult task to impress the audience after tye exit of Henry Cavill.
There are rumours that a new spin-off will tell the story of the group of Nilfgaardian criminals known as The Rats. It had been previously announced that the Rats will appear in the third season of The Witcher. Fans are waiting to see Henry Cavill return as Geralt for the last time before passing it to Liam Hemsworth in season 3.
